PURPOSE: A 21st century trash can is provided to enable a user to easily open/close a lid by opening two opening/closing plates in both sides and connect a power transfer structure between the opening/closing plate and a foothold. CONSTITUTION: A 21st century trash can(2) comprises a foothold(1), a lid(2'), two opening/closing plates(4,4'), and operating bars(7,7'). The two opening/closing plates are installed in a trash inlet(3a) formed in the lid. The operating bars are arranged in an X shape between the foothold and one side of the opening/closing plate. An intersection between the operation bars is installed in a wall of the trash can by fixing shaft pin(8). An upper end of the operating bar is connected to protrusions(9,9') formed in the opening/closing plate through connecting bars(10,10'). A lower part of the operating bar is connected to a lower part of a lifting piece(11) through connecting bars(12,12'). The fixed shaft pin is inserted into a slot(13) formed in an upper part of the lifting piece and ascends. Therefore, the opening/closing plate is opened and closed. |
