AROMATIC POLYAMIDE POLYMER AND METHOD OF MAKING ARAMID FIBER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An aromatic polyamide polymer is provided to minimize strength deviation of aramid fiber and to prepare an aramid fiber having properties required for high-tech field such as bulletproof and aerospace field. CONSTITUTION: An aromatic polyamide polymer comprises 0~1 weight% of first particles having a diameter of 75 micron or less; 94~100 weight% of second particles having a diameter of 75-850 micron; and 0~5 weight% of third particles having a diameter larger than 850 micron. A method for manufacturing aramid fiber comprises the steps of: polymerizing aromatic diamine and aromatic diacid halide in a polymerization solvent to prepare the aromatic polyamide polymer; preparing a spinning dope by dissolving the aromatic polyamide polymer; and radiating the dope.
