The invention relates to lift manufacturing industry, in particular to lift cabin catches. The invention is aimed at enhancement of catch reliability by providing its bilateral operation. The catch comprises a base 1, two shoes 2, carrying wedges 3 and 4 are mounted therein. The wedge 3 is embodied as a box with an elastic shoe 5 and an additional brake shoe 6 arranged therein. The additional brake shoe actuates a guide 7. The wedge 4 is embodied as an individual part. From the initial position the wedges 3 and 4 can displace over shoes 2 oppositely and each only in one direction. Roller cages 8 are provided between the wedges 3 and 4 and the shoes. The base 1 comprises also a drive shaft 10 with levers 11, 12, cams 13, 14 and stops 15, 16. Said stops act upon the wedges via cams and levers.
