PURPOSE: A magnetic disc for heat assist magnetic recording and a magnetic disc device using the same are provided to prevent the pyrolysis or evaporation of lubricant spread in the surface of the magnetic disc when the recording layer of the magnetic disc is heated. CONSTITUTION: A protective layer(9) is formed on a recording layer(5). Lubricant(8) is offered on the protective layer. The protective layer has a first protective film(6) and a second protective film(7) formed on the first protective film. The first protective film and the second protective film are composed of different materials. A heterogeneous interface(11) is formed to be parallel with the magnetic disc surface inside the protective layer. The hardness of the second protective film is greater than the hardness of the first protective film.
