PURPOSE: An overheating prevention device is provided to prevent damage of a switching transistor or surrounding elements by rapidly returning a surrounding temperature to a normal temperature if a radiator or an ambient temperature rises over a regular value. CONSTITUTION: The overheating prevention device of a refrigerator includes: an inverter(21) converting a DC(direct current) voltage into an AC(alternating current) voltage for drive of a compressor; a radiator emitting heat generated from the inverter; a temperature sensor(23) detecting a temperature of the radiator or the surroundings and outputting a detecting signal; and a microcomputer(24) analyzing a temperature around the inverter based on the output signal of the temperature sensor, and stopping drive of the inverter if the temperature around the inverter rises over a regular value. |
