A fluid pressure regulator (1; 1') for regulating the pressure of a fluid comprises an opening (11) positioned between a first environment (3) at a first pressure (Pin) and a second environment (6) at a second pressure (Pout), valve means (12) for opening closing said opening (11) for regulating a fluid flow of said fluid from said first environment (3) to said second environment (6) through said opening (11), first electromagnetic driving means (23) for driving said valve means (12) away from said opening (11) and second driving means (24; 56) for driving said valve means (12) towards said opening (11).
