The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a plate-type heat exchanger of the type comprising a plurality of plates defining, with lateral bars positioned on the plates, circuits for the circulation of fluids, comprising at least the following successive steps: - sourcing a stack of a plurality of plates separated by lateral bars, - introducing at least one set of removable spacer blocks of at least two spacer blocks, joined together by means of at least one connecting element, between plates of the said exchanger, - brazing the said exchanger, and - removing the set of removable spacer blocks.
