SCANNING PROCEDURE IN WIRELESS LAN, STATION SUPPORTING THE SAME, AND FRAME FORMAT THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A scanning procedure in a wireless LAN, a station for supporting the same, and a frame format for the same are provided to reduce a load of a communication channel and an overhead caused from an active scanning procedure. CONSTITUTION: An AP(Access Point)(4) receives a probe request frame from a Non-AP STA(2)(S10). The probe request frame includes a HESSID(Homogeneous Extended Service Set IDentifier) field having a desired HESSID and a network type filed having a desire network type of a Non-AP STA. The AP transmits the probe request frame to the Non-AP STA in response to the probe request frame(S20). The HESSID field is set as the HESSID of a second station for receiving a wild card HESSID or the probe request frame. A network type field is set as a wildcard network type or a network type of the second station.
