PURPOSE: A method for preparing a highly active recombinant whole cell biocatalyst through co-expression of chaperone proteins is provided to prevent inactivation of catalyst and enhance activation of recombinant whole cell biocatalyst. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a recombinant whole cell biocatalyst which overexpresses a protein catalyzing oxidation of styrene comprises: a step of introducing a styrene oxidase into a vector having T7 promoter to produce transformed recombinant E.coli; and a step of introducing a chaperon into the recombinant E.coli. The recombinant whole cell biocatalyst co-expresses the charperon and styrene oxidase. The chaperone is a trigger factor, GroEL-ES or DnaK-DnaJ-GrpE.
