FLAME-RETARDANT COMPOSITION, INSULATED WIRE USING THE SAME, AND WIRING HARNESS

Disclosed is a flame-retardant composition having excellent wear resistance and cold resistance.  An insulated wire using the flame-retardant composition and a wiring harness are also disclosed. The flame-retardant composition contains a base resin having an elastic modulus of not less than 500 MPa and a Charpy impact strength at -20°C of not less than 1 KJ/m2, and a flame retardant composed of a pulverized natural mineral which is mainly composed of magnesium hydroxide.  It is preferable that the base resin is mainly composed of a polypropylene.  It is also preferable that 30-250 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide is contained per 100 parts by weight of the base resin in the composition.  An insulated wire obtained by covering the outer circumferential surface of a conductor with the flame-retardant composition, and a wiring harness comprising the insulated wire are also disclosed.
