Provided is an electronic device capable of making full use of the characteristics in terms of design and flexibility of a dye-sensitized solar cell. A solar cell/display unit (61) functions both as a solar battery and as a display unit for displaying a predetermined display, causes a predetermined character string such as "POMY" to be identified, generates electric power from illumination light or solar light and stores the electric power in a storage cell (62).  A light source (63) such as a fluorescent lamp applies light to the solar cell/display unit (61) by the electric power stored in the storage cell (62), whereby the characteristics of the dye-sensitized solar cell can be made full use thereof.  The present invention is applicable to a device comprising the dye-sensitized solar cell.
