<p>A sensor for paper sheet identification is provided. The sensor has a light source which irradiates an object i.e., the paper sheet to be identified, a nearly triangular prism which is disposed at a position where the prism can receive the light from the object irradiated by the light source, and a light-receiving part which is disposed at a position where the light-receiving part can receive light separated by the prism and has light-receiving elements arranged in a line. The outgoing surface of the prism from which the separated light outgoes has a rounded projecting shape.</p> |
