PURPOSE: A dust extraction device for a vacuum cleaner is provided to evenly store foreign materials inside the dust collecting vessel by bypassing air flow inside a dust collecting vessel and stabilizing the flow of the dust collecting vessel. CONSTITUTION: A dust extraction device for a vacuum cleaner comprises a cyclone part(110), an air suction part(111), and a discharge part(112). The cyclone part generates cyclone flow. The horizontal length passing through the center of the cyclone part is longer than the vertical length. The cross section of the cyclone part is formed in an ellipse shape. A filter element(113) is included inside the cyclone part. The filter element has the same center as the center of the cyclone part. The air suction part is formed at one side of the cyclone part. The air suction part absorbs the air to the cyclone part. The dust discharge part discharges the dust separated from the air sucked by the air suction part.
