A fuel tank manufacturing method manufactures, by using a seam welding machine, a metal fuel tank having a projection/depression portion in the path of seam welding. The method performs the seam welding while changing the position of the fuel tank relative to the seam welding machine that has a non-interference space in which interference between the fuel tank and the seam welding machine is avoided.
