PURPOSE: A light emitting unit and a method of manufacturing thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing costs by forming a direct electrode on a ceramic substrate without lead frame and mounting light emitting diode on it. CONSTITUTION: In a light emitting unit and a method of manufacturing thereof, a first electrode(21) is formed on the bottom and top of a ceramic substrate(10). A second electrode(23) is electrically isolated from the first electrode and it is formed at the top and bottom of the ceramic substrate. A light emitting diode(40) is mounted on the top of the ceramic substrate and it is electrically connected to the first and the second electrode. A transparent film(31) is formed on a place where the light emitting diode is not mounted and is formed a certain height form the place. The first and the second electrode include an adhesive layer and a thick film electrode layer. The thick film electrode layer has a thickness of 4um or 300um.
