An acoustic panel for muffling sound. The acoustic panel includes one or mor e fiberglass mats and an outer layer with a substantially smooth surface. The acoustic panel also includes one or more adhesive elements for securing the outer lay er to a selected side of the fiberglass mat to position the substantially smooth surface of the outer layer facing away from the fiberglass mat.
