The invention relates to organic chemistry, in particular to the technology of preparation of substituted 1,2-bis-(5-phenyloxazolyl-2)-benzenes (o-POPOP) that are effective organic luminophores and are widely used in scintillation technique as activators of scintillating solutions and plastic scintillators.Disclosed is a process for the preparation of substituted 1,2-bis-(5-phenyloxazolyl-2)-benzenes of formula I,wherein Ar is unsubstituted alkyl-, alkylaminosubsituted phenyl radical or polycyclic aromatic radical, wich consists in interaction of ω−aminoacetophenone with phthalic anhydride, cyclodehydration of the prepared phthalic acid phenacylamide in concentrated sulfuric acid, addition of thionyl chloride to the prepared 2-(2-carboxyphenyl)-5-phenyloxazole-1,3, interaction of the prepared 2-(2-carboxyphenyl)-5-phenyloxazole-1,3 acid chloride with ω−aminoacetophenone hydrochloride followed by cyclodehydration of the prepared amide in sulfuric acid wherein the stage of 2-(2carboxyphenyl)-5-phenyloxazole-1,3 acid chloride preparation is carried out in boiling benzene with addition of equimolar amount of thionyl chloride, and the stage of interaction with ω−aminoacetophenone hydrochloride is carried out in benzene with addition of pyridine at temperature of 25-30 °С. The process enables to increase final product yield four times and to simplify the technology of purification thereof. |
