The method involves directly connecting a state of an automaton to another state of the automaton by an event transition (TE) and suppressing all internal transitions (IT) to provide a supervision automaton (SUP). A fault is introduced in a behavior automaton of an element of a system for producing wrong specification (SPE) of a communication system. An error in a simulation of execution of a service in the communication system is detected according to produced wrong specification, using the supervision automaton. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for detecting errors in a communication system (2) a computer program comprising instructions for executing an error detection capacity calculating method (3) a storage medium comprising instructions for executing an error detection capacity calculating method.
