A method of local strengthening steel and cast iron components consists in surface plastic deformation, which is achieved due to friction of a tool over the surface of component with simultaneous transmission of electric current through the area of contact of the tool with the component, which forms a strengthened layer. Pulse rectangular current is transmitted, which forms a regular microstructure of the surface layer in the form of strengthened fragments. |
