<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce damage, caused by cavitation, of a suction hole of an injection pump of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The injection pump for the internal combustion engine includes a suction chamber 1, a high pressure chamber 3, a suction hole structure having at least one suction hole 2 connecting the suction chamber and the high pressure chamber and a piston 4, for blocking the high pressure chamber to the suction chamber, which has a control edge 5 for connecting the suction chamber with the high pressure chamber, wherein the suction hole of the suction hole structure includes at least two portions 8, 9 of almost truncated cone shapes having different opening angles α, β, the injection pump includes a front relief hole 6 and the front relief hole 6 is formed in the suction hole 2 of the suction hole structure so that the control edge 5 first connects the front relief hole 6 with the high pressure chamber when compression movement of the piston 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
