<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in magnetic spacing that occurs when forming a lubrication layer on the medium facing surface of a head slider as measures to prevent materials from sticking. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the head slider 15, a chemical adsorption layer 40 is formed on the medium facing surface 23 as water-repellent processing with parts around a magnetic head 33 exposed. The chemical adsorption layer 40 is formed as the result of occurrence of chemical reaction between a water-repellent resin and the medium facing surface 23. Further, a physical adsorption layer is also applicable, which is formed when the water-repellent resin and the medium facing surface 23 physically adsorb each other.
