<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a diffraction ghost image, that may be generated in a picked up image, with simple configuration when an infrared cut filter is accomplished by multilayered film coating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A region, whose luminance value is equal to or higher than a prescribed value, is detected from a picked up image (S101). On the basis of prestored generation position information of diffraction ghost image, a generation position of the diffraction ghost image is then estimated (S104). When a pixel at the estimated position contains a color tone component of the diffraction ghost image, it is regarded that the diffraction ghost image is being generated, thereby correction processing is performed (S108).
