<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type image forming apparatus for efficiently removing a liquid developer remaining in a developing device by a simple method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A cleaning blade 132 squeezes the residual liquid developer adhering onto a supply roller 130, and the squeezed liquid developer is collected into a collection tank 133. The liquid developer removed from the cleaning blade 132 of the supply roller 130 and collected into the recovery tank 133 is conveyed to a cleaning liquid supply part 122 by a pump 165. The developing device 115 uses the liquid developer removed from the cleaning blade 132 of the supply roller 130, as a cleaning liquid in the cleaning liquid supply part 122.
