PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device capable of downsizing as a whole, and with excellent operability. SOLUTION: The operation device 10 equipped with two or more setting modes with a plurality of choices, is for selecting a predetermined setting mode, selecting a predetermined choice. It is provided with a dial knob 16 capable of rotation operation and arranged in free movement along an axis direction of a rotation center, a rotating operation detecting means for detecting rotation direction and a rotation volume of the dial knob 16, a push-in position detecting means detecting a displacement position along an axis direction of the dial knob 16, and a changing means changing to a predetermined mode which is set up beforehand among a plurality of setting modes in accordance with the displacement position detected by the push-in position detecting means, and changing the choice in the selected setting mode in accordance with the rotation operation of the dial knob 16 detected by the rotating operation detecting means.
