Provided in two frame halves (2, 3) of the metal profile frame (1) are grooves (6), into which insulating bodies (4) are inserted. The insulating bodies (4) are clamped securely between the internally-lying frame webs (11) and legs of the externally-lying frame webs (10) by means of a deformation tool (21) which, after its introduction into a cavity (12), presses internally-lying frame webs (11) away towards the insulating bodies. By means of this secure clamping in, the cavity (12) between the insulating bodies (4) and the frame halves (2, 3) is closed in an airtight manner, thus improving the heat-insulating properties of the metal profile frame. <IMAGE>
