<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game apparatus and a control method of the game apparatus capable of executing a slot game being enjoyable even for beginners. <P>SOLUTION: A matrix-like grid of (n) rows and (m) columns is displayed on a display part. Symbols of respective squares of the matrix-like grid of (n) rows and (m) columns displayed on the display part are changed based on a player's operation of an operation part and then, the change in the symbols of the respective squares are stopped. This game machine determines whether adjoining squares are linked or not based on the symbols of the respective squares in the stopped matrix-like grid of the (n) columns and (m) rows and determines whether it is a win or not based on the number of linked squares.
