PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption when turning on a cold cathode type fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: This lighting device 1 includes a heater 14 provided at the outside center of the cold cathode type lamp 11 having an anode and a cathode and shorter than the lamp 11 for heating the lamp 11.
