PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide quick changing to a target speed position by facilitating shift operation to multiplied speed positions and to secure safety by preventing a sudden change in vehicle speed in regard to the shift operation. SOLUTION: The speed change controller for the vehicle is provided with a transmission comprising a first main transmission 41 having two speed positions of high and low stages and a second main transmission 43 having at least three or more speed positions, a sub transmission 44 having three speed positions of high, intermediate and low stages, and a means 75 of specifying or detecting a traveling state or working state of a body. When the body is specified or detected during traveling by the means 75 and the sub transmission is changed over to a high speed position, an automatic speed position of the main transmission is in the intermediate speed stage. |
