PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practically useful communication method determination method and system, switching and selectively applying a MIMO system and a single-input and single-output (SISO) system accurately in accordance with various conditions in actual communication services. SOLUTION: According to a communication system determination method, a communication system determination unit 13 determines whether to apply a MIMO system or a SISO system to a communication on the basis of a utilization service recognized in a utilization service recognizing unit 11 for recognizing a class of the utilization service and a reception quality recognized in a reception quality recognizing unit 12 for recognizing the reception quality. For the determination, free capacity of radio resources being recognized in a radio resource free capacity recognizing unit for recognizing the free capacity of the radio resources, may also be taken into account together.
