<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in resolution when correcting a pixel defect and/or suppressing noise in a solid-state imaging apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus includes a light receiving area 501 of (m)×(n) pixels for performing photoelectric conversion and an A/D converter 403 for converting an analog signal obtained by photoelectrically converting each pixel in the light receiving area into a digital signal, and sequentially outputs digital video signals obtained by processing output signals of the A/D converter. The solid-state imaging apparatus further includes: a pixel defect correction/noise suppression circuit 500 for obtaining a plurality of digital signals of the same color included in a first area of (p)×(q) pixels in the light receiving area, detecting and correcting a defect of a central pixel in the first area from among the obtained digital signals or suppressing noise of the central pixel; and a resolution restoration circuit 550 for obtaining a plurality of digital signals in different colors included in a second area of (r)×(s) pixels in the light receiving area, extracting a high frequency component to be present in the central pixel from among the obtained digital signals, and restoring a resolution.
