PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve rough survey of position, area, distance, etc. on the real time basis with a simple method at the survey field. SOLUTION: When a polygonal land area S is measured by a GPS mobile phone which simultaneously receives electric waves from a plurality of GPS satellites 2 and a GPS base station 4 on the ground, the GPS mobile phone 3 is moved sequentially so as to surround the vertices P of the polygon land, and the GPS data is taken in at a plurality of positioning points which are the vertices P of the polygon land. After taking in the GPS data at the last positioning point, the GPS data is attached to a mail M1 en bloc and sent to a calculation center 5. The calculation center 5 performs correction calculation and calculates the area S of the polygon land. The calculation center attaches the calculation results of the land positioning to a mail M2 and sends back to the GPS mobile phone. The calculation center further calculates the distance between the positioning points and computes the total L of the distances. Thereby, the survey of the distance can be done.
