<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress delay of first fuel injection, when cylinders in which fuel injection is performed firstly after beginning start are cylinders of a second cylinder group in an internal combustion engine after the start. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the internal combustion engine 31, fuel injection timings of cylinders of the first cylinder group and the cylinders of the second cylinder group are alternately set. The first cylinder group is a cylinder group in which a period of a pressure-feeding stroke of a high-pressure fuel pump 4 before the fuel injection timing is longer than a period at the pressure-feeding stroke after the timing. The second cylinder group is a cylinder group in which a period at the pressure-feeding stroke before the fuel injection timing is shorter than a period at the pressure-feeding stroke after the timing. The first fuel injection in the internal combustion engine 31 in the start is permitted at the fuel injection timing while fuel pressure is a target value or more. In the first cylinder group, the target value is set to be a first target value. In the second cylinder group, the target value is set to be a second target value smaller than the first target value.
