<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that medium information added by reinstallation of a printer driver is erased, resulting in changing a medium order displayed on a driver screen. <P>SOLUTION: A medium updating program is started just after installing the printer driver. A medium updating program is updated after preparing up-to-date driver medium characteristic information by comparing content of medium characteristic information of medium integration information with content of driver medium characteristic information.
