<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector which can achieve high luminance of a liquid crystal display apparatus by raising reflectivity of light from a linear light source, and to provide a method for manufacturing the reflector; and to provide a backlight apparatus and a liquid crystal display apparatus using the reflector. <P>SOLUTION: The reflector 6 covers the light source 5, reflects light from the light source 5 and makes the light incident on a flank of a light guide plate 4 disposed at a back surface side of a liquid crystal panel 2. The reflector 6 is molded of a thermoplastic resin sheet which has almost the same length as the flank of the light guide plate 4 and has minute air bubbles or air pores inside. Further, the method for manufacturing the reflector 6 has at least: a pressing step of pressing the thermoplastic resin sheet by a concave metallic mold and a convex metallic mold heated at ≥70°C and ≤200°C; and a cooling step of cooling the sheet at ≤40°C after the pressing step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
