PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector for detecting the abnormality of the ejector of an injection molding machine capable of detecting the abnormality of ejector operation without using a special device from the first molding cycle. SOLUTION: In the detector for detecting the abnormality of the ejector of the injection molding machine equipped with an ejector driving means, a means for detecting the position of an ejector and a means for detecting the load of the ejector, the load of the ejector is detected during the retreat of the ejector, the position of the ejector at the point of time when the detected load of the ejector becomes smaller than a predetermined load is detected, and the occurrence of abnormality in the ejector is detected in the case where the detected position of the ejector is a predetermined reference position or above.
