<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion-proof ring for a piston that can prevent molten metal from blocking a cooling medium flow path during casting a piston, with respect to an abrasion-proof ring formed by integrating members for forming the cooling medium flow path, and a manufacturing method therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An extending portion 74 extending along an inner circumferential surface 62 of an abrasion-proof ring body 6 is provided in a flow path forming body 7. In a state that an outer circumferential surface 74a of the extending portion 74 and the inner circumferential surface 62 of the abrasion-proof ring body 6 are brought into surface-contact with each other, they are mutually welded. Thereby, a welding surface is sufficiently secured, and the occurrence of poor welding is suppressed, molten metal which is generated during casting the piston is prevented from flowing into the oil flow path 51.
