摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensioning mechanism which can apply initial tension to an inner cable without directly touching a guide member, and a window regulator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A guide member 13 is rotatably mounted on a base 11 by a shaft 12, and a carrier plate 15 is locked to an inner cable 14 whose direction is changed by the guide member 13. A substantially U-shaped wiring path regulated by a guide channel 42 formed on an outer periphery of the guide member 13 and the part supporting the inner cable is short when the guide member is at a first rotation end, and the wiring path is longer than that when the guide member is at a second rotation end. The wiring path becomes longest when the guide member reaches a top dead center during its movement from the first rotation end to the second rotation end. An engaging member 16 engaging the guide member 13 is mounted on the carrier plate 15 to rotate the guide member 13 from the first rotation end to the second rotation end.
