摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carburized component having excellent impact strength and bending strength which have not been obtained heretofore by performing carburizing and quenching, also refining crystal grains and removing a carburized abnormal layer on the surface. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A steel having a composition comprising, by mass, 0.10 to 0.45% C, 0.05 to 2.0% Si, 0.10 to 2.0% Mn, ≤0.030% P, ≤0.20% S, ≤3.0% Cr, ≤5.0% Ni, ≤3.0% Mo, ≤0.30% Cu, 0.001 to 0.1% Al, <0.01% Ti, and 0.01 to 0.05% N, and further comprising one or two selected from 0.02 to 0.50% Nb and 0.02 to 0.50% V, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is formed into a component shape by machining or forging, is thereafter subjected to gas carburizing and quenching, is subsequently subjected to whole quenching for one or more times, and is thereafter tempered, and, after that, a carburized abnormal layer is removed so as to manufacture a carburized component.
