<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric kettle which can transmit the heat of a heater to an internal container as effectively as possible and which the lifetime of the heater is extended by controlling the excessive increase of heater temperature. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electric kettle is provided with a tubular external case with bottom, the tubular internal container 3 with bottom that is installed inside the external case, a heating section which a heater storing section is formed inside a concave formed on the upper side of a prescribed diameter section at the center side of the bottom of the internal container, a sheet heater 4A that heats water poured inside the internal container through the heating section, and a heat shield panel 29 that stores and fixes the sheet heater inside the heater storing section through a heat-transferring plate 25 and a back plate 26. The outer periphery edge section 26a of the back plate is extended up to the bottom surface on the bottom outer periphery side on the outer side of the heating section of the internal container and the extended section is brought in contact with the bottom surface on the bottom outer periphery side of the internal container.
