PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand movement preventing method and a vegetation improving method using the sand movement preventing method using sand bags lightweight and excelling in folding property as the material of sand bags to facilitate transportation even in a desert area, to reduce the load of workers with excellent installation work efficiency and to minimize the use of resources, and further to reduce the change of the sand bags themselves caused by wind force or the like to sufficiently exhibit a sand movement preventing effect and a resultant vegetation improving effect. SOLUTION: The sand movement preventing method prevents the movement of sand by placing a plurality of columnar sand bags with sand filled in the cylindrical interior formed of cylindrical knit material, crosswise on the sand ground, and installing objects for impeding the formation of secondary flow of air, at both side faces of the sand bags excluding the cross parts. The vegetation forming-improving method on the sand ground changes the vegetation of the sand ground by raising plants to be raised on the sand ground exposed between the columnar sand bags placed crosswise while preventing the movement of sand using the sand movement preventing method.
