The method involves forming a preform (1) using a dimensionally non-stable semi-finished product (3,4,5) and a dimensionally stable semi-finished product (6) having thermosetting matrix resin. The thermosetting matrix resin is cured under the action of pressure and temperature, by which the dimensionally stable semi-finished product is permanently integrated in the component. The dimensionally stable semi-finished product has a matrix of thermoplastic plastic, which is dissolved by the thermosetting matrix resin on its surface area not coated with the dimensionally non-stable preforms. An independent claim is included for a fiber composite component with a matrix.
