PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the range of temperature rise of a coke dry quencher upon one charge of red-hot coke, thereby raising temperature according to the setting. SOLUTION: A method is to raise temperature inside CDQ 5 with heat generated when red-hot coke 4 is charged into a coke dry quencher 51. The red-hot coke 4 in one of the carbonization chambers of a coke oven is divided and extruded, for example, by controlling the extrusion distance of a rack beam of an extruder and thus divided and extruded red-hot coke 4 is charged into a coke dry quencher 51, wherein the temperature rise pattern is set according to the repair conditions of the refractory substances in CDQ 5, then the amount and the pitch of the red-hot coke 4 to be charged is controlled according to the setting.
