<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict dimension around a tensioner pulley in a tensioner to be used for a belt-type transmitting device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A tensioner arm 12 is pivotally fitted to a tensioner cup 11 freely to swing around a rotary shaft X1. A coil spring 21 engaged with the tensioner cup 11 in one end and engaged with the tensioner arm 12 in the other end gives rotational energizing force to the tensioner arm 12. The tensioner arm 12 includes a pulley fitting boss part 24 for pivotally fitting the tensioner pulley 13 around a rotary shaft X2 in parallel with the rotary shaft X1 at a position offset from the rotary shaft X1. An upper cylindrical part 24A of the pulley fitting boss part 24 is fitted in an inner ring 27 of a bearing 26. A shaft member 30 is pressed into a shaft bore 25 provided in the center of the upper cylindrical part 24A, and the inner ring 27 is pushed and fixed between a head part 32 of the shaft member 30 and a lower cylindrical part 24B of the pulley fitting boss part 24.
