<p>1397644 Biological decomposition of refuse/ mud mixture J R KAELIN 12 July 1972 [19 July 1971] 32638/72 Heading C1B [Also in Division B1] A mixture of rottable refuse and mud is loaded into a treatment chamber from above, passed continuously and in vertical direction therethrough and discharged at the bottom and whilst passing through, at least one stream of gas or gas mixture supporting biological decomposition (e.g. air, oxygen enriched air or pure oxygen) is passed through the material by supplying the gas or gas mixture under pressure through one side wall of the treatment chamber and sucking it through an opposite side wall. Gas may be blown in by a pressure blower and sucked out by a fan. Means are described for varying the flow of gas in different regions of the chamber.</p> |
