The armrest device (10) has a base part (11) and pivotably supported armrest part (12) relative to the base part. The armrest part clamps with respect to a pivoting direction in a position by a locking mechanism (13). The locking mechanism has a primary locking element provided in the base part, and is co-operated with secondary locking element arranged in the armrest part. A bolt element (19) of a spring element (20) is loaded in different positions in connection to the pivoting position of the armrest part.
