<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a transmission member from moving into a release position unless the release operation of an operating member is performed even if a force toward the release position to release engagement of a locking means is applied to the transmission member by impact or the like in a mechanism in which the locking means and its operating member are arranged at a space and both the locking means and the operating member are linked by the transmission member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This locking device includes the locking means 1 engaged with a part of a support body P of a movable body L to releasably maintain a state of the movable body L being in a position before moving; the operating member 2; the transmission member 3 moved into a release position by the release operation of the operating member 2 to release the engagement of the locking means 1; and a linkage member 4 linking the operating member 2 with the transmission member 3. The linkage member 4 includes an impeding means for impeding the movement of the transmission member 3 into the release position by impact or the like when not performing the release operation.
