PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system incorporated to an OS or a multitask OS, capable of detecting a stack breakage resulting from an overflow of stack without troubling an operator, a method for detecting the stack of overflow, and the OS. SOLUTION: Upon occurrence of a dispatch or interruption request, a dispatcher or an interruption handler of the OS examines to a stack point value to check for overflow of stack.
