<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibody specifically binding to an insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR), preferably human IGF-IR, and to provide an antigen-binding portion thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A human anti-IGF-IR antibody includes a chimeric antibody, a bispecific antibody, a derivatized antibody, or a single chain antibody, or a portion of fusion proteins. An isolated heavy and light chain immunoglobulin molecule derived from an anti-IGF-IR antibody, and a nucleic acid molecule encoding the molecule are provided. Preparation of the anti-IGF-IR antibody, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody, and use of the antibody, and the composition thereof for diagnosis and treatment are provided. A gene therapy uses the nucleic acid molecule encoding the heavy and/or light chain immunoglobulin molecule that comprises the human anti-IGF-IR antibody.
