<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of suppressing a drop in power generation performance, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: Carbon nanotubes are directly produced from at least part of electrode metal catalyst particles by: dispersing the electrode metal catalyst particles having a particle size of 1-50 nm as an electrode catalyst metal of a fuel cell on a polymer electrolyte membrane; and vapor-depositing carbon by a vacuum arc deposition method on the polymer electrolyte membrane on which the electrode metallic catalyst particles are dispersed, under inert gas atmosphere or reducing gas atmosphere at 0 to 200°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
