PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precise rotation transmitting mechanism capable of suppressing or reducing the displacement in the axial direction of a flexible shaft in relation to the rotation in both directions of the flexible shaft, preventing the contact with the inner surface of a sheath, and developing good torque transmission properties, and an optical scanning probe. SOLUTION: The precise rotation transmitting mechanism has a three-layered coil the layers of which are alternately different in the winding direction and the band consisting of an elastomer fitted to one place or a plurality of places in the axial direction of the three-layered coil and pressing the coil of the outermost layer to the inner peripheral side of the three-layered coil.
